UNSUNG

UNSUNG takes a gamified approach to learning by allowing students to collaboratively explore immersive environments in history to learn about musicians of color.

The experience takes place across historical scenes related to each musician's life. Each scene is designed to take one 45-minute class period to complete. At the start, each student (or team of students), is tasked with finding a primary source artifact relevant to the musician in question. They must explore historical environments, question NPCs about the musician, and complete fill-in-the-blank texts based off of gleaned information. After each student finds their primary source artifact, the team is brought together as a group to analyze primary source documents and answer questions about them. An optional bonus level follows, where students look for hidden items and capture them with a camera, filling in an album of found objects.

UNSUNG is compatible with any tablet device supporting augmented reality, as well as with Chromebooks.
