Honey Fungus is a virtual reality science fiction piece by Jonah King and Sue Huang that encourages a broadening of their bodily perception of the larger ecosystem. The work presents a queer, conscious ecological being represented through an all-encompassing fungal entity.
Honey Fungus offers a new perspective on the relationship between different beings and their environments. The experience challenges traditional notions of individuality and separateness, through its immersive experience and prompts the audience to consider where one body ends and another begins.
Honey Fungus has been shown at Mycological Film Festival (NYC), GBA (NYC), NEW INC (NYC), Hesse Flatow (Chicago), VISUAL Carlow (Ireland), and more.
